How to Become a Consultant

If you’re an undergraduate you must take WRA 395: Writing Center Theory, which is by instructor permission only. Contact Dr. Trixie Smith (smit1254 (at) msu (dot) edu) to request permission.

Prerequisites for WRA/ENG 395 include satisfactory completion of your Tier I writing requirement and satisfactory completion of at least the first half of your IAH requirement, as well as sophomore or better standing.

Once you’ve taken WRA 395, please send a letter of interest, CV or resume, along with a writing sample, to our director, Dr. Trixie Smith (smit1254 (at) msu (dot) edu), and associate directors, Dr. Dianna Baldwin (baldw145 (at) msu (dot) edu), and Dr. Joseph Cheatle (cheatlej (at) msu (dot) edu).

Once your materials are submitted you will be contacted for an interview with the director and/or associate director.
