As I've previously mentioned, the Writing Center has some great resources for creative writers, but let me get more specific on some books I would personally recommend; most of which can be found in the Center. First of all, let me list some great books that really are useful for any writer in all genres:
Imaginative Writing: The Elements of Craft ~ Janet Burroway
Let the Crazy Child Write! ~ Clive Matson
Becoming a Writer ~ Dorothea Brande
A Poetry Handbook ~ Mary Oliver
What If? ~ Snne Bernays and Pamela Painter
The Write-brain ~ Neubauer
Some of these books are full of hints and tips on techniques to improve your writing and some of them just have great ideas of prompts to get your creativity flowing. So come into the Center and check these outs. Handouts are also being made with some tips and tricks and will soon be available on the website!
