Ink is a tool for teaching and it is an unusual community simulation. It is also a research project. The project team has several research agendas, related to writing, motivation, game design, and nontraditional instruction. We welcome possible collaboraters, as well as proposals by independent researchers. We are in the process of developing formal policies for independent researchers.
Every player will periodically have the option to participate in Ink-related research. For example, a player might answer a survey or participate in an interview in exchange for ink. The Path of Inquiry foregrounds this self-analytic component of the community.
