¿Cómo funciona?

• Each week, I will reserve 1 ½ - 2 hours of digital consultations at the Taller de escritura de La Casa. Everyone may have access to this type of appointment because all you need is AIM or Windows Live Messenger (MSN) . The time reserved for digital consultations serves to answer any questions you may have regarding Spanish grammar, clarity of your thesis, specific transitions in your piece, among other points of interest. YOU DO NOT NEED AN APPOINTMENT TO USE DIGITAL CONSULTING, you just simply sign on to AIM or Windows Live Messenger (MSN) and chat live with our consultants.
• During a digital consult, we will not have time to go over your whole paper so it is important that pinpoint specific aspects of your paper during your conversation with the consultant.

 

¿Cómo se comunica con los consultadotes de el Taller por el internet?

• We have created accounts with both AIM and Windows Live Messenger (MSN) instant messenger. Our sign in name for both accounts is: LaCasaWriting. You may contact us during the times labeled “DIGITAL CONSULTING” on the schedule each week. Here is the digital consulting schedule:

• You will not need to Schedule an actual appointment for digital consulting; you just simply IM us at our AIM/ MSN accounts

How Do I Get Instant Messenger?

First you must choose if you want to use AOL, Windows Live Messenger, or MSN

Instructions for AOL Instant Messenger

1. Sign up for a screen name with AOL Instant Messenger
2. You will be brought to a page where you can download the messenger. You do not need to download the messenger. You have three options:
1. Download GAIM and use it instead (more below)- Mateo Recommended
2. Log in online using AIM Express - Recommended if you are on a public computer
3. Download the AIM messenger if you do not want to use GAIM (more below)
3. Go into your email that you used to sign up and find the link to confirm the screen name
4. Add us as a buddy! Our SN is LaCasaWriting

Instructions for Windows Live Messenger (MSN)

1. Sign up for a Windows Live ID or screen name with MSN
• If you have a Windows live ID (formerly .net passport) you can use all msn services. This is why it does not matter if you have an SN with MSN or a Live ID. Live ID has additional things you can make use of other than messenger.
2. You do not need to download the messenger. You have three options:
1. Download GAIM and use it (more below)- Mateo Recommended
2. Log in online using MSN Web Messenger - Recommended if you are on a public computer
3. Download the Windows Live Messenger or MSN messenger if you do not want to use GAIM (more below)

Why is Gaim so awesome?

1. Gaim is open source and free.
2. You can have multiple accounts from different messengers all logged in at the same time.
• It is compatible with AIM and ICQ (Oscar protocol), MSN Messenger (Windows Live Messenger), Yahoo!, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, SILC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, and Zephyr networks
3. It is the Firefox of Instant Messaging
4. In order to chat with us you must first create a screen name with one of the above messengers
5. Download Gaim!
