Undergraduate Writing Consultants
Undergraduate Writing Consultants (UWCs) are prepared through course work and field experiences to provide writing workshop support to other undergraduates in Michigan State University. In hour-long consulting sessions in the Writing Center, UWCs assist peers with brainstorming, drafting, revising, and editing writing for courses across the disciplines. UWCs also conduct workshops (e.g., "Peer Response to Writing") in courses, programs, and residence halls.
Graduate Writing Consultants
Graduate Writing Consultants (GWCs) are prepared in course work and field experiences to provide writing workshop support to undergraduatestudents, graduate students, and faculty in Michigan State University. In one-on-one and small-group consulting sessions in the Writing Center, GWCs assist colleagues as they compose papers, theses, dissertations, and articles for publication. GWCs also conduct workshops (e.g., "Peer Response to Writing," "Preparing the Personal Statement," "Writing the Abstract") in courses, programs, and residence halls. They also assist in the preparation and supervision of Undergraduate Writing Consultants.
