The Writing Center @ MSU's Statement on Violence in Ukraine
The Writing Center at MSU affirms their support for the Ukrainian people, for people in Ukraine, and for all victims of political violence and oppression.
We believe that writing is a practice of freedom, and that peace is necessary for a just and freely storied world.
We honor the stories of refugees – and Ukrainian patriots – of all races, ethnicities, and nationalities as they endure unspeakable danger, and we honor the grief felt by citizens of powerful nations struggling to make sense of their government’s decisions. We commit ourselves to fostering a writing culture of transparency, honesty, and equity.

“There’s no space that I learned more about how to be a teacher and how to work with students than The Writing Center at MSU. No matter any of its problems, I believe in The Writing Center and what it does and what it’s trying to be for students.”
