Disney’s Magic in Writing Center Consulting

Rebecca Hallman is in the teacher internship program and has been a writing consultant for a year. She was a Walt Disney World cast member in March of 2020 and in June through December 2021 as a lifeguard at the Polynesian and Blizzard Beach specifically . Rebecca deeply values the learning that takes place outside of the classroom and how that holds value to her life in academia.

Anna’s Journey into the Writing Center

Anna LePage (she/her) is a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in History, with minors in Philosophy and Peace and Justice Studies. She joined the Writing Center in 2023 as an undergraduate consultant, and intends to remain in this position until her anticipated graduation in 2025. Her background as a history major has given her an appreciation for narrative and storytelling, which she has found to intersect with writing center work in interesting (and often unexpected!) ways.

Fostering Global Collaborations at the United States-Africa University Partnerships Initiative Summit

Since joining the Writing Center in 2019, Associate Director Grace Pregent has been amazed by the breadth of the Writing Center’s partnerships across communities. Working alongside multiple campus partners including AAP, the African Studies Center, Canadian Studies Center, and the Education Abroad Office, Grace is participating in fostering intentional and reciprocal collaborations that offer faculty, staff, students, and community members opportunities to connect across cultures through writing.

Reaping the Benefits of an Interdisciplinary Degree as a Writing Consultant

Re’Anna Limmitt (she/her) of Detroit, MI, is a first-year master's student studying human resources and labor relations and is expected to graduate in May 2024. While pursuing her graduate degree, she is employed with the Writing Center as a Writing Consultant and utilizes her robust academic background to build rapport with her clients and improve their overall writing.
